Amanda McMurray, Fund Manager

Amanda manages the £2.4m Three Pillars Fund, investing in early stage growing businesses in the energy, healthcare and health sciences and process industries technology sectors.

She has over 15 years of experience of spin-out, technology commercialisation and new technology development, including a commercialisation role for Cenamps, where she managed commercialisation of technologies developed from investment in healthcare related projects. She has also worked with PA Consulting Group, where she specialized in life sciences, genomics and biotechnology, as an independent consultant, delivering a broad range of business and technology projects for a number of US biotechnology companies, and as Development Manager for the UK Human Genome Project at the (then) Sanger Centre where she led technology development.

Currently, Amanda holds a non-executive post with a start-up technology innovation company.

She has a PhD in Organic Chemistry (Cambridge) and the MBA (Cass Business School London). Her scientific background is in chemistry, molecular biology and biotechnology, with technology expertise in point-of-care medical diagnostics, and genomic and “post-genomic” technologies.
